Additional Information:

The Swearingen Merlin or the Fairchild Aerospace Merlin is a pressurized twin-turboprop business aircraft first produced by Swearingen Aircraft and then later by Fairchild at their plant in San Antonio, Texas. The Merlin was at one time the aircraft the leading aircraft for domestic commuter air service. Unfortunately, the aircraft required frequent maintenance which made the plane not as reliable as the other planes on the market.

An experimental Fairchild Merlin III-A, N199Z, aircraft was fitted with Pratt & Whitney engines and then brought to Albuquerque to undergo high altitude performance tests on April 25-26, 1985.
