Additional Information:

The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, nicknamed the “Huey”, is a military helicopter designed and produced by the Bell Helicopter company. It was the first member of the prolific Huey helicopter family as well as the first turbine-powered helicopter in service with the United States military.

Sandia Corporation, located on Kirtland AFB, borrowed a UH-1-H Huey helicopter, #16757, from the New Mexico Army National Guard to test an anti-missile defense system for helicopters on July 5, 1974. The tests were conducted at the Moriarty Range on the east side of the Manzano Mountain Range east of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
