The Convair C-131 “Samaritan” is an American twin-engine military transport produced from 1954 to 1956 by Convair.  It is the military version of the Convair CV-240 family of airliners. The US Air Force Convair C-131A “Samaritan” hospital plane was a frequent visitor to Kirtland Air Force Base during the late 1960’s. The aircraft was home based at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas. The “Convairs” are also attached to Kirtland Air Force Base for transport and liaison service. Tail number 025801 was one of several Convairs to visit Kirtland Air Force Base.
